Founder and Director
Ivon Linares is the Founder and Director of Light of Hope. As a survivor of domestic violence, she is passionate about helping other victims by providing direct support and resources. Ivon brings twenty years of leadership and management skills that she acquired as Founder and Logistics Coordinator for Global Carrier Services Inc. Now she is using her professional background and experience to guide her passion to empower others. Besides running her company and helping women and families through Light of Hope, Ivon enjoys traveling, watching sports, writing poetry, and spending time with her two sons.
Nora P Cardona Avila
Nora P Cardona Avila is a loving mother with a giving heart. With eight years of experience in the nursing ﬁeld, Ms. Cardona Avila brings considerable expertise to her board position. Light of Hope has given her the opportunity to help women of all ages and encourage them to be brave. Notable is her involvement as Treasure for Light of Hope that her hard work and dedication have been an inspiration to many. Her high aspiration for Light of Hope is what has kept her pushing forward to continue inspiring women and helping them.
Ruben Lima is a License Mental Health provider established in Miami, Florida. He has a progressive education and a more than 5 years clinical experience in the ﬁeld. He is dedicated to his profession, hard work and very helpful to achieve wellness and autonomy of the patients with mental health diagnosis or developmental disabilities. Mr. Lima has full practice performing functional analysis, interviews and individual assessments and treatment plans to treat and to facilitate multiple health care aspects (case coordination, referral, information sharing, etc.). During these years, he has specialized in the treatment of autism in our community, helping children and families with children with special needs with Applied Behavior Analysis treatment. He possesses excellent communication skills, and he is very helpful during family’s intakes; he acts as a family advocate regarding their health status and treatment options.
